Board of Trustees Statement July 2011

On July 26 2011, the Board of Trustees held a meeting via teleconference. President Richard Wolfson spoke to the Board addressing the manner in which the meeting was being held as well as the impact of tuition increases on students and their families. In the end the Board voted to increase undergraduate tuition by 5% and graduate tuition by 3%.

Collective bargaining helps all workers, whether in unions or not

America's Drop Out Problem

"According to a variety of sources, 46 percent of teachers leave the field--drop out--within 5 years. A conservative national estimate of the cost of replacing public school teachers who have dropped out of the profession is $2.2 billion a year."
