Officers of the AFT Local 1904 at "Kill the Cuts" Rally (Newark, NJ)

On Tuesday, April 8th, Officers of the AFT Local 1904, together in solidarity with AFT Local 6025 (Adjuncts), AFTNJ, CNJSCL (Council), and national AFT leadership, attended the Kill the Cuts rally in Newark, NJ. This was a national day of action, on which labor communities across the United States stood up and demanded no cuts to education or to life-saving research.

AFT Local 1904 President Laura Field attends Senator Britnee Timberlake's 6th Annual Community Empowerment Awards Reception

AFT Local 1904 President Laura Field attended Senator Britnee Timberlake's 6th annual Community Empowerment Awards Reception at The Appian Way on Friday, March 28th. The event honored "outstanding leaders and changemakers who embody the spirit of service, advocacy, and community empowerment."

AFT Local 1904 Officers at The National Center for the Study of Collective Bargaining in Higher Education and the Professions

Several AFT Local 1904 officers and delegates attended the annual conference of The National Center for the Study of Collective Bargaining in Higher Education and the Professions. The conference took place in New York City on March 23th, 24th, and 25th. The theme of the conference was "Defense of Higher Education and Collective Bargaining." The keynote presentation, "Unity in Defense of Higher Education and Collective Bargaining," featured Randi Weingarten, President, American Federation of Teachers, and Lynn Pasquerella, President, American Association of Colleges and Universities. Officers attended panels on topics such as how AI is changing the bargaining landscape, antiracism and social justice issues as negotiable subjects, working with labor management committees, and many others.
