AFT Local 1904 Shows up for the Martin Luther King, Jr. March of Resistance

On Saturday, January 18, 2025, AFT Local 1904 officers joined the People’s Organization for Progress's (POP) in their The Martin Luther King, Jr. March of Resistance in Newark, New Jersey. Over 500 participants marched from the Martin Luther King Jr. statue to the Federal Building, and then back again, for a day of speakers and workshops. This event was endorsed by over 300 grassroots, civic, community, labor, student, religious, racial, and social justice organizations--including AFT Local 1904. The purpose of the march was to honor MLK Jr. and the Civil Rights movement, and to stand in solidarity and advocate for social justice.

AFT Locals 1904 and 6025 Show Up at the Labor Walk of the Passaic County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO

Officers and other members of AFT Locals 1904 (MSU Full/Part-Time) and 6025 (MSU Adjunct) showed up this morning at IBEW Local 1158 in Clifton, NJ to help get the vote out by participating in the Labor Walk of the Passaic County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO. Thank you to all who contributed to this important effort.

AFT Locals 1904 in Solidarity with Two Communities at Collaborative Flag-Raising Event

On Tuesday, October 1st, 2024, Officers and other Members of AFT Local 1904 (along with those of AFT Local 6025--Adjuncts), in the spirit of solidarity and aspiring allyship, attended Montclair State University’s inaugural, collaborative flag-raising recognizing both Disability History & Awareness Month and LGBTQ+ History Month, sponsored by the Montclair State Office of Social Justice and Diversity and other community partners.

AFT Locals 1904 and 6025 at MSU Homecoming 2024!

On Saturday, September 28th, the AFT Local 1904 proudly joined with AFT Local 6025 (Adjuncts) and other members of our campus community in celebration of Montclair State University's Homecoming 2024! Two two AFT Locals shared a table in College Hall (the event moved indoors due to inclement weather), with the AFT Local 1904 end staffed by our Office Manager extraordinaire Deb Corasio and Office Intern Ana Rita Mateo, along with Treasurer Mike Heller, President Laura Field, and Past-President Rich Wolfson. We welcomed alums and current students, members of their family, and other members of our community, and gave out AFT t-shirts, pens, pencils, key chains, and other Union swag. Like last year, we shared important information with current students and their families about the Local's scholarship opportunities. Thank you to everyone who supported us--and it was great to see those of you who stopped by to say "hi"!
