Second Annual AFT Local 1904 Professional Staff and Librarian Holiday Celebration

The Second Annual Holiday celebration for Professional Staff and Librarians was held on Thursday, December 12th at Alexus Steakhouse & Tavern in Clifton, NJ. A great time was had by all, and the Local wishes to thank Alexus for their hospitality. The opportunity for hard working members of our community to connect and spend some "down time" together was truly special event, and it was a great way to welcome new members!

AFT Local 1904 Overwhelming Approves Strike Authorization Vote

Today, at the AFT Local 1904 Membership Meeting, one of largest attended meeting in recent memory, the Local overwhelmingly supported (99.3% in favor) a strike authorization vote. 

This vote, in solidarity with the eight other Locals in our statewide Council, empowers the Local's Negotiation Team to participate in conversations that include possible strike plans at the statewide bargaining table. The goal is to hasten settlement of a fair and equitable successor contract.
